VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY REQUIRED TO RE-OPEN THE BURNHAM YOUTH CENTRE

With your support, the new Burnham Youth Centre Management Committee will be re-opening the Burnham Youth Centre soon.

The centre will deliver an exciting and innovative programme of activities while encouraging young people to develop their social skills and self esteem in a fun environment.

The youth centre will require at least twenty volunteers on a rotation basis, to help out during week day sessions. Volunteers will be required to cover two hour sessions (plus 30 minutes before and after).

Opening times: - Juniors (8-12yrs) Tuesdays/Fridays 18.00-20.00 - Seniors (13-18yrs) Thursdays 19.00-21.00

Girlguiding Burnham and Taplow - Brownie and Guide helpers

Burnham and Taplow Guides and Brownies are looking for helpers.

To assist the Leaders in running the unit. No experience needed. You will need an enhanced DBS from Girlguiding and will need to be over 18

Bucks Vision Weekly Group Meeting Volunteers

BucksVision are looking for VOLUNTEERS to help at their weekly group meetings.

Based in Burnham Bowls Club on Stomp Road (Opposite the tennis courts) the ideal candidate will make and serve tea/coffee & cakes between 1.30pm and 4pm every Thursday. This position will suit a chatty, outgoing man or lady (Over 16's) who will engage with the Visually Impaired club members, assist where necessary and wash up afterwards!

Tea Dance Refreshment Volunteers

BHPT are looking for one or two volunteers who could prepare and serve the refreshments at our weekly term-time Tea Dance. Based at Burnham park Hall, the ideal candidate would be male or female (Age 16+) and be available most Thursdays from 2.30pm-4.30pm to set up and serve refreshments half way through the 2 hour session. You would then be required to clear up and put away equipment. In return, you will receive free attendance at the Tea Dance every week. Youth Worker / Role Model Aged 18 - 25

Located at May's Chocolate Shop on Burnham High Street, this role is to help support a junior Youth Programme called ‘Spiritual Empowerment of Junior Youth’ once a week after school. New Leaf - Volunteer Mentors

we are a not-for-profit organisation supporting offenders resettle, re-integrate and rehabilitate in Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. The mentees are all low risk and have elected to receive support from New Leaf, and as such have a real desire to transform their life. The role is very flexible and can be easily fitted in around other commitments; we really need volunteer mentors who will listen to and support offenders for an hour a week for at least 12 weeks after release. We provide comprehensive training and excellent support to our volunteer mentors with a strong focus on their safety.. The Well's Youth Cafe - Youth Cafe Volunteer

An after school club run by The Well, a charity that supports the Lent Rise community. Any volunteer would need to have a real heart for working with young people aged 11-13/14 and be able to have relaxed conversations with them-as well as being prepared to have a go at board games/snooker/table tennis etc. A basic level of fitness required to help set up the equipment and clearing it away at the end of the session. BCA Good Neighbour Drivers

The Burnham Community Association are looking for drivers who can take less abled residents to health related appointments. Volunteers must be a car onwner aged 21 or over with a full clean license. 1st Lent Rise and Dorney - Scout Leaders Wanted

Do you enjoy working with young people, and can spare one evening a week, then we would love to hear from you. We are looking for adults (18+) to work with Beavers (aged 6 to 8) or Cubs (aged 8 to 10) and join the leadership teams of our thriving 1st Lent Rise & Dorney Scout Group. Support Family Support Workers to plan and carry out sessions for families with children under 5 years in the local area. Round and About - Magazine Delivery Volunteers

The delivery team at Round and About are looking for extra help with delivering the magazine in certain areas of Burnham, Hitcham, Taplow & Dorney. BHPT are looking for experienced gardening fans who can give one afternoon or more a week to help local schools with gardening projects and running their own allotment at school. Knowledge of planting & growing vegetables would be desirable, but a general passion for all things green would be a good start. Suitable for anyone aged 16 or over.

Round and About Packing and Distribution Logistics Volunteers

Round and About, the local community magazine, are looking for volunteers to assist at the packing and distribution hub for 2-3 hours once every three months. The packing takes place at Burnham Youth Club on Minniecroft road starting at 8:30am and is suitable for volunteers aged 16+. Dates will be provided on Application. Singing for Memory Supporters and Assistants

Supporters & Assistants are required at Singing for the Memory, A group for people with memory problems, early onset dementia etc. Meeting at the Library on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month, 10.45-12.00pm. Burnham Childrens Centre - Centre Volunteers

We are looking for centre volunteers who can offer from a minimum of one hour a week to any maximum. Duties include changing notice boards within the centre, laminating and basic admin duties, supporting sessions with crafts and other areas, meeting and greeting, making tea/coffee and preparing snacks, cleaning up after the sessions are completed, supporting children in activities, ensuring the children’s centre is a safe environment, answering the telephone. Barking Mad - Occasional Dog Hosts

We are looking for dog lovers who can't commit to a dog of their own at present but would enjoy having a nice dog to stay occasionally. Everything is arranged by Barking Mad including insurance. The dog is delivered to you with full information. Trial nights are possible before committing to a stay of a week or more. Everything is provided by the owner and a nominal amount is given to the host at the end of the dogs stay as a thank you. This is not a job but a rewarding hobby. Must be over 18yrs and preferably have experience with dogs (ex dog owner or cared for family/ friends dogs) We only wish to attract people who genuinely like the idea of having a dog to stay occasionally and not people who see it as a means of making money. Burnham Village Information Point (BVIP) - Information Assistants

We have a rota of volunteers and aim to have one or two volunteers on duty for one and a half hours each day the Library is open. Responsibilities include dealing with enquiries from members of the public, by phone, email or in person and assisting the information coordinator with information updating and displays. Library Computer Club Technical Writers

Every month we run a computer club at the Burnham Library and we are looking for young people who would be prepared to put together fact sheets on technical items which they are knowledgeable about, for example how to sign up to Facebook, how to use instagram, safe ways to surf the web, or how to use your smartphone.
